OIKOS, the economics student body of Singapore Management University is proud to bring to you Lumiere 2018. It is the latest instalment of our signature faculty camp for students, by students. As with our previous economic faculty camps, Lumiere is set up to be an orientation for incoming economic freshman, to both the surroundings and facilities within the School of Economics; along with the culture of our Oikos family.

 

This year's theme, 'Lumiere' means 'Light' in French and is in line with the long running history of previous camp with similar themes. We hope to illustrate the message of 'finding the light' to emulate the journey that the freshmen would be embarking on, and hope that this brings inspiration and anticipation for the rest of their 4 years in SMU. 

 

Through Lumiere 2018, incoming economic freshman can look forward to a fulfilling and eventful three days and two nights camp, all in the company of likeminded peers that would soon become  yet another cohort of tightly knit economic undergraduates. For our first day, campees will are welcomed with our opening ceremony, followed with fun and games. The second day sees a change of scene away from our Seminar Rooms to the shores of Sentosa. Campees can look forward to a series of activities by the beach. It promises to be a day of fun in the sun! Along with these beach games comes our clan war, where campees pledge their alliances in the name of conviviality . The final day sees our return to SMU compounds, where we wind down and take it easy for most of the day.

 

Freshman can be rest assured that accommodation and meals are in good hands. With that, Oikos awaits the warm welcome of the next cohort of economic freshman. What are you waiting for, get your demand on, supply is limited!
