2025's OIKOS Camp theme, Veneficus (Latin for “wizard”), immerses incoming freshmen in a magical, story-driven adventure. In a realm once united by the legendary Ancient Wand, peace and harmony reigned for centuries. But now, that power has been shattered-the Ancient Wand is broken, its six elemental shards scattered across the land and lost to time.

 

As darkness stirs, four mighty clans emerge: Solara, guardians of the blazing sun; Frigidus, masters of frost and ice;Terra, keepers of earth's strength; and Astra, wielders of cosmic energy. Each clan must embark on a daring quest, facing trials of wit, courage, and teamwork to recover the elemental shards and restore balance before it's too late.

Through exciting games and bonding activities, camp veneficus serves as the first touchpoint for incoming freshmen, offering them a warm welcome to the SMU community and an opportunity to build meaningful connections with their peers and faculty.
